Two brothers, LUKE (15) and JASON (17), live in the poor yet defiant neighborhood of the 7th Ward with their father, STERLING CARROLL (40). Jason is a high school baseball phenom, days away from the Major League Baseball draft—which would eliminate the family’s hardships—but the news that comes today brings everything to a screeching halt.
