When you’re on the way but you’re a liar! Told as a series of texts between two friends dreading their plan to hang out, ON MY WAY is a comedy about not wanting to leave the house.
Mary Dauterman is a Texas born, Brooklyn based director and multidisciplinary artist. Her work looks to draw humor out of the mundane while maintaining a sense of oddball, graphic style. Mary is passionate about making films as beautiful as they are hilarious, and as relatable as they are surprising.
Mary works in a variety of mediums, creating viral web experiences, inventing joke products (the sold out Tortilla Towel!), and writing/illustrating books (most recently, What Are We Even Doing with Our Lives, Harper Collins 2017). Her films and projects have been recognized by The Webbies, The New York Times, NPR, Booooooom, Vice, Splitsider, CNN, and No Budge.
The MATINEE ONE screening at the Nitehawk Shorts Festival features eight films that explore the encouragement of imagination, pursued ambition, and the struggles in life that are both personal and culture.
